Get to Know the n-MF Lexmark
The service n-MF communicates with the printers through an NPAP Protocol. When any copy, fax or print is performed, the printer sends a package with the information of this job via broadcast. The service then captures this package, analyze it and add it to a file.
At the time to send these files to the NDD Print Host, the service compact and encrypt these files by generating a NPL file. This file is then sent to the NDD Print Host.
See how it works:
Information Capture
Through the NPAP Protocol, Port 9300, the n-MF Lexmark monitors and captures the NPAP packages, which contains information about the jobs performed by the printers.
After the capture, the n-MF Lexmark treat these billing information and generates a log file with these data.

Log Compression
The n-MF Lexmark compress and encrypt the log file by generating a NPL file at each sending time interval, as shown below:

Sending of Data
After generated, the NPL files are sent to the NDD Print Host via DCS Protocol.
ATTENTION
The default interval configured to send the files is 30 minutes.
