Print Queues

The n-MF Lexmark is capable of capturing information of the printings, performed via the network without having the printer installed in the station. It intercepts packages sent by the device and then collect the information necessary for accounting. However there is a limitation to these packages: Depending o how the print queue is configured, these packages doesn't bring any information of the user who performed the printing.

When the printer's Port is configured with RAW Protocol, the information of the user who performed the printing will be lost and it will be accounted to unknow. So that this loss of information does not occur, its required to change the Protocol of this port to LPR.

To perform this setting, access the properties of the print queue, and in the tab Ports click on Port Settings, choose the option LPR and assign any name for the queue.

This setting must be performed in all the monitored print queues.

There is a tool created by NDDigital to automatically perform this task. For further information, refer to the n-MF Client Tool User Manual or contact the support NDD.
