Failed Object reference not defined for an object instance on the NDD Print Client HP

Fail

When clicking on the NDD Print Client HP to perform authentication, the error “object reference not defined for an object instance is displayed”.

Cause

There are two known causes:

  1. Check that the TLS versions (1.0, 1.1, 1.2) are active on the device.

  2. The Server address configured in the NDD Print MF HP is not being called correctly by the device. This is common in environments where the Server has more than one network card.

Solution

For item 1, enable TLS 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2.

For item 2, correctly configure the server address in the HP NDD Print MF that the printer should communicate with.

The device must be removed and added again if the Server address is changed.
