Printing slowly using the NDD Print Client HP Workpath
Behavior
The process of authenticating, selecting the document and releasing it for printing is very slow on devices using the NDD Print Client HP Workpath.
Cause
In order to activate Workpath on some families of devices, it is necessary to install additional RAM. After upgrading the memory, it is possible to notice slower behavior in the use of the device's resources, as well as NDD solutions.
This behavior doesn't happen on devices with native memory.
To illustrate the times of the NDD solution, tests were carried out on equipment with native memory and equipment that had been upgraded:
Action | Equipment with factory memory | Equipment with memory upgrade |
---|---|---|
Normal PDF document with 1 page | ||
Until the authentication screen opens | 5s | 15s |
Until you open the purpose selection screen | 15s | 31s |
Until the main menu opens | 25s | 58s |
Until the message sent to print successfully appears | 42s | 1m 22s |
Normal PDF document with 254 pages | ||
Until the authentication screen opens | 5s | 15s |
Until you open the purpose selection screen | 15s | 31s |
Until the main menu opens | 24s | 59s |
Until the message sent to print successfully appears | 1m 06s | 1m 54s |
Solution
There is no solution, as this is standard behavior in older equipment families.
