Lexmark

Settings to be configured after installing the NDD Print Client Access, NDD Print Client, and NDD Print Client Collector modules Lexamrk

  • The installation of the NDD Client Access, NDD Client, and NDD Client Collector modules continues to be performed manually through the printer's web page. The ECT module is responsible for applying the settings after the other modules have been installed on the equipment.

  • If a version of the ECT (Embedded Configuration Tool) module is already installed, it must be uninstalled manually before proceeding with the installation of the latest version.

Import

Allows settings to be sent to multiple devices.

  1. Create a file (.csv format) listing the information of the devices to be configured

  2. After creating the file, import it by clicking on Import File

Printer

Configure settings for a single device.

  • Address: enter the device address (IP address or hostname).

  • Username: enter the device administrator username.

  • Password: enter the device administrator password.

  • SNMP Community: this field corresponds to the SNMP community configured on the device.

Administrative Credentials

Enter the device administrator username and password to send the settings to the Lexmark NDD Print modules.

Enabled Modules

Select the modules you want to configure:

NDD Print Client Access

Module that controls access to the printer and the Lexmark NDD Print Client module, ensuring security. It works independently, only managing permissions.

Security Modules

  • Module name: Choose a name for the authentication module.

  • Authentication: Enables the authentication feature. When enabled, native printer functions—such as fax, FTP, scan to flash drive, and others—are blocked, requiring authentication to access them.

  • Authorisation: Enables authorisation. Should only be used for the email function.

Server

  • Communication protocol: Choose between the communication protocols: DCS (5656) or HTTPS (56569)

  • NDD Print Host: Enter the IP address or hostname of the server where NDD Print Host is installed

Reader

  • Type of Reader: Allows you to define the type of reader. You can choose between proximity card or barcode.

  • Enable conversion: Allows you to enable conversion to the format selected below.

  • Conversion format: Allows you to choose between two types of format: Hexadecimal or Decimal

Contingency

When enabled, if communication with the server fails, users can continue to make copies and scans as normal. During this period, accounting will be recorded as ‘In contingency’. Authentication will be automatically re-established as soon as communication is restored.

Store application data to file

By default, communication between applications occurs over the network. Use this option when there are accounting problems related to connectivity.

Stored data: login, domain, email, contingency, purpose, and debit identification.

NDD Print Client

Module responsible for managing the secure release of prints, copies, faxes, and scans, offering mobility to the user. Depends on the Access module to function.

Solution Appearance

  • Solution title: Choose the name of the embedded solution that will be displayed on the printer screen. Default: NDD Print Client

  • Change the logo: Allows you to change the image of the embedded application icon that will be displayed on the printer screen.

Server

  • Communication protocol: Choose between the communication protocols: DCS (5656) or HTTPS (56569).

  • NDD Print Host: Enter the IP address or hostname of the server where NDD Print Host is installed.

  • NDD Print Releaser: Enter the IP address or hostname of the server where NDD Print Releaser is installed.

Enable MFP at the embedded solution

  • Copy: Enables the collection of copy job events.

  • Email: Enables the email function embedded in the NDD Print solution.

  • Email Me: Enables the ‘Email Me’ function embedded in the NDD Print solution.

  • Fax: Enables the collection of events from fax jobs.

Pre debit of copies (Only 5x and higher)

Enabling this option allows the quota to be debited at the beginning of printing. This option may be relevant in certain cases, as some devices may experience firmware failures when debiting the quota page by page.

Please note: if printing is cancelled, there will be no refund for the user.

NDD Print Client Collector

Module responsible for collecting job data, counters, supplies and printer alerts, sending them to the server. It works independently.

General Settings

  • Send time: enter the time interval (in hours) at which the data captured by the NDD Print Client Collector module will be sent to the server (Host or Data Centre).

  • Default Domain: enter the default domain to which jobs that do not have an identified domain will be assigned;

  • Multiple Domains: In environments with more than one domain, enable this field so that jobs from different domains are accounted for in the specified domains. The domain must be entered in the expected format:

    • test=test.example.local

    • example=example.com.br

  • Delimiters: Allows the user to log in by document title. Refer to the manual for configuration examples. The start and end delimiters must be entered.

SNMP Settings

Allows you to choose between SNMP V1/V2 or SNMP V3.

Primary Server

  • MPS/360

    • Server Address: Enter the IP address or hostname of the MPS/360 server.

    • Enterprise Key: Enter the company identification key. If you do not have it, contact NDD sales.

    • Monitoring Configuration: Select the data that can be collected:

      • Collection of counters and suppressors;

      • Collection of printer events;

    • Accounting Configuration: Select the options that will have the jobs accounted for: Prints, copies, scans and/or faxes.

  • Host

    • Server Address: Enter the IP address or hostname of the server where NDD Print Host is installed.

    • Accounting Configuration:

      • Printings: activates the collection of events from direct printing jobs;

      • Copies: activates the collection of events from copying jobs;

      • Scans: activates the collection of events from scanning jobs;

      • Faxes: activates the collection of events from fax jobs;

Secondary Server

Allows you to select a secondary server for sending data.

None: no server.

MPS: If the ‘MPS’ option is selected, the requested data must be entered so that accounting data, counters and supplies can be sent.

Orbix Settings

This setting enables data transmission from the printer to NDD Orbix, allowing you to adjust the level of monitoring of agents, counters, supplies, and events.

  • Orbix Network Address: NDD Orbix address.

  • Provider: Provider name.

  • Company Identification key: company identification key.

  • Monitoring Configuration

    • Enabled Agent Monitoring: enables the sending of application logs, printer monitoring data, counters and supplies to NDD Orbix.

    • Collect of counters and supplies: activates the capture and sending of equipment counter and supply data;

Multiple Devices

Configures the monitoring of up to 20 devices through an NDD Print Collector Lexamrk.

  • Import File

  1. Create a CSV file containing the address of the printer you will monitor and the addresses of the printers that will be monitored

  2. Click Import File to send the file
