IMPROVEMENTS

NDD Print MF/Client Xerox 5.15.13

Released on March 31

Fixes

Message "Unknown Error" when accessing the NDD Print Client Xerox

How did the problem happen? When the user tried to access the NDD Print Client Xerox, the message “Unknown error” was displayed.

When did the problem happen? When attempting authentication on printers with firmware version 38.71.21 or higher.

Where was the problem? In the cryptography used to generate the Self-Signed Certificate from IIS.

What was done to fix it? Changed the encryption algorithm for generation of the Self-Signed Certificate used in the communication of the equipment with the NDD Print Client.

NDD Print Releaser 5.25.1

Released on March 22

New features

Compatibility of NDD Print Releaser with SQLite

What is the new functionality? Use of SQLite Database

What is the benefit of the new feature? In addition to bringing us more security, it was necessary to migrate to SQL Lite due to the End of Life of SQL Compact.

How does the new feature work? SQLite is installed along with NDD Print Releaser and no additional steps are required for the user.

Observations? None.

NDD Print Agent 5.23.11

Released on March 14

Fixes

User/domain identification failure in non-domain environments

How did the problem happen? The Windows Spool generated the SPLs with invalid identification values on the workstation, while on the server these IDs were generated correctly, this caused the generation of an invalid SPA (important files that contain user/domain information), and because they were generated this way, this information was lost, so the NDD Print Agent assigned a generic user/domain to the print job. This fact also generated a problem in document retention, because the jobs stayed with the incorrect user and domain.

When did the problem happen? When printing to workstations.

Where was the problem? In SPA files.

What was done to fix it? We have made a change so that the job ID is automatically corrected, making it retained and accounted for the correct domain and user.

Improvements

Disable advanced features in drivers when Ecotoner is enabled

What purpose? For Ecotoner to work properly we need to disable the advanced features in the drivers. This was not done by default and this caused extra work for anyone implementing the NDD Print Agent in the environment.

What was done? The default of the DisableAdvancedPrintingFeatures switch has been changed to 1 when Ecotoner is enabled, otherwise the switch remains with the value 0.

What will be affected? The DisableAdvancedPrintingFeatures switch.

What is the impact on the environment? Queue drivers will have the Advanced Features option disabled if the environment has Ecotoner enabled, this can cause Spool files (SPL) to be generated with a larger size.

Observations? The key changes are reverted if the user goes 30 days without using Ecotoner, but the change in the Drivers will remain.
