Compatibility of NDD Print 360 modules with TLS 1.2
Description
TLS (Transport Layer Security) is a protocol that guarantees the security of communications over the Internet, where version 1.2 is widely recommended due to its improvements in security and performance.
The NDD Print Releaser, NDD Print Portal 360 Server and NDD Print Collector Lexmark modules have been updated to support TLS 1.2, which ensures that communications between modules and devices are effectively encrypted, protecting against eavesdropping and attacks.
Compatibleversions for TLS 1.2
NDD Print Releaser as of 5.30.0
NDD Print Portal 360 Server as of 5.65.12
NDD Print Collector Lexmark as of 5.65.12
Impact
TIncreased Security: By supporting more robust encryption algorithms such as SHA-256 and greater flexibility in the encryption suites, data transmitted between modules and servers is more secure against cyber attacks.
Standards compliance: Compatibility with TLS 1.2 is often a requirement in security standards such as PCI DSS, which demands that sensitive data be transmitted securely.
Improved Performance:
The TLS handshake protocol takes place in seconds
Some technologies, such as TLS False Start, mitigate latency
Other options, such as TLS Session Resumption, allow the parties to use an abbreviated handshake.
Because of the points discussed above, TLS 1.2 offers better performance compared to previous versions, resulting in a more fluid user experience.
Warning
It is important that users of the NDD Print Releaser, NDD Print Portal 360 Server and NDD Print Collector Lexmark modules carry out the following actions:
Update: Make sure that the module versions are updated to the TLS 1.2 compliant versions.
