Interaction of Windows Protected Print Mode with NDD Solutions
Description
NDD is currently evaluating the possible impacts of using Windows Protected Print Mode (WPP) in conjunction with NDD Print 360. While the analysis is ongoing, we recommend that WPP is not activated on computers with NDD Print 360 installed, in order to avoid potential service disruptions.
About Windows Protected Print Mode (WPP)
Windows Protected Print Mode (WPP) is a secure Windows printing feature designed to operate with reduced privileges, as specified by Microsoft. Based on the IPP (Internet Printing Protocol) protocol, WPP automatically removes printers that depend on third-party drivers, preserving only Mopria-certified printers.
Affected versions: All versions.
Workaround
Until this analysis is finalized, we recommend that WPP mode remains disabled on devices using our solution, as a precautionary measure to ensure service continuity.
