Authentication contingency

In a contingency scenario, printers can go offline, which can block users for access to resources and applications. To ensure business continuity, you can use Authentication contingency. This feature allows users to authenticate even if the servers are unavailable.

Authentication methods available

  • User and pass

  • PIN

  • Physical identifiers

Functions available in contingency

  • Native functions: copy, e-mail, scan and fax

  • Release of retained documents (Pull print)

Pull print is only available for the Ricoh android manufacturer

To configure the contingency

For the Authentication contingency tab to be available, you need to add the advanced setting UseAuthenticationContingency with the value true

  1. tab Users

  2. group Clients

  3. action Configure authentication

  4. tab Authentication contingency

  5. select Use authentication contingency

  6. check the authentication methods that will be used in the contingency

    • User and pass

    • PIN

    • Physical identifiers
