Import printers into NDD Print MF HP

In this article, you'll learn how to perform a mass import of printers using a CSV file.

Before you start

  • Make sure you carry out the Basic settings for NDD Print MF HP.

  • Make sure to visit Configure authentication on the NDD Print Host if any printers are imported to use the Authentication feature.

  • Make sure you visit Add a printer in the NDD Print Releaser, in case any printers are imported to use the Releaser functionality (secure document release).

  • Be sure to configure Quotas in NDD Print Portal 360 if any printers are imported to use the Controlled Copy feature.

  • Perform a test print on new equipment for identification on the network.

Step 1: Preparing the CSV file

  1. Download the file template PrintersFile.csv

  2. Open the CSV file with Excel, Notepad or other compatible software

  3. Fill in the printer information

Printers using the Web method in the Authentication field must have their access control configured after being imported into NDD Print MF HP.

Client Releaser

The Authentication field must be nddPrint or Web.

Copy quota

true or false

The Authentication field must be nddPrint or Web.

Future Smart

fs3 (for Future Smart 3) or fs4 (for Future Smart 4 and 5)

  1. Save the file

Step 2: Import the CSV file

  1. Click on Actions > Import printers

  2. Select the CSV file

  3. Check the printer information and click Next

  4. Wait for the wizard to finish importing and click Finish

If an error occurs during the import, you can click on Save log and check which devices were not imported.


Exporting printers

You can export the registered printers. This makes it easier to optimize time for future imports or to create a backup of the devices added to NDD Print MF HP.

  1. Click on Actions > Export printers

  2. Choose the directory and click Save
